Through our different operations and programs, we have continually worked to improve the lives of child amputees and persons with disabilities in Nigeria. Since our inception in 2012, The IREDE Foundation has:
Provided 500+ prosthetic limbs to over 390 child amputees in 27 states across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
Raised over One million, Five hundred thousand dollars ($1.5 million) for the provision of prosthetic limbs to child amputees across Nigeria.
Provided Physio and Psycho-social support to over 300 child amputees and their families through our Limb2Care Support Group
Held our Out On A Limb Advocacy Walk in over 50 different locations worldwide bringing together 1000+ participants and having a direct and indirect global reach of more than 15 million people
Educated over 15 million people on disability issues, limb loss, and limb management
Distributed over 15,000 copies of the IREDIANS Comic Book to children across different schools in Lagos, Nigeria, educating them on disability and educational inclusion.
Helped over 40 out-of-school child amputees return back to school through our scholarship program
Improved the learning conditions of over 170 children with hearing impairments at the Ikeja Inclusive Secondary School in Lagos by appointing 2 new sign language teachers, an act that received recognition from the Lagos State Ministry of Education.
Provided Capacity Building Workshops and Programs for over 130 youths with disabilities.
Facilitated and Engaged in policy discussions with Nigerian Governmental Agencies such as LASODA and non-governmental agencies on the need for an Inclusive Budgeting Process for Persons with Disabilities.
