One of the issues that face children living with disabilities in Nigeria and across Africa is the lack of an inclusive educational system. We at The IREDE Foundation believe that quality education is the right of every child and no child should be discriminated against in the educational sector. We therefore work to ensure that no child is left behind in their educational journey.
Working along with the Lagos State Government in Nigeria, we were able to advocate and facilitate the implementation of Inclusive Educational Policies in 2021. With the aid of the Disability Rights Fund, we were also able to publish a UIE report on the Inclusive Education Budgeting Process. Since then, we have not relented in our efforts to advocate for inclusive budgeting processes that take into account the need of children with disabilities to be put in place and implemented
